Horse Race and Asado

 Most Lodges in Chile will offer the traditional Asado during the week. This is a BBQ where friends eat, drink and celebrate each others company. At Rio Palena Lodge we take it to the next level.

We host an annual local horse race in front of the lodge along with our asado where everyone in the area is invited to celebrate Patagonia, Chile with our guests.  It is a wonderful way to become acquainted with the incredibly diverse Chilean culture, and local zest for life.

The folks in the Palena Valley are some of the most wonderful people you will ever meet, and watching there skills with the horses is an unbelievable experience. With great food, wine and sensational company, the Chilean Asado  is the perfect way to end a trip at Rio Palena Lodge.
